We are ending 2019 with major changes for Doc Moccasin.

We now have a much larger rehearsal space thanks to Code's tenacity and hard work.

The most noticeable change for in the coming year is that we now have a fifth member of the band!  Miss Karlisha Monday has joined Doc Moccasin as our lead vocalist. She is a seasoned veteran of the local music scene, and even after only one rehearsal, we can hear the positive changes in the way our songs sound. Code and John are enjoying being able to focus on playing and providing the occasional harmony back-up vocals, and we are sure those of you who have heard us before will appreciate the new energy that the band will be bringing to our shows in 2020.

We will post photos of our new lineup as soon as we can get them done, so keep checking back. In the meantime, check our Facebook page, where I'm sure some less-than-formal photos of us with Karlisha will be appearing fairly quickly.

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I posted any news. Time flies when you're rocking hard.

We've been very busy since the last update. We've been booking new venues, writing new songs, and upgrading the recording studio. Over the past month I, the bass player and website guy, have been very sick.  I'll spare you the details, but there was hospitalization involved.  Unfortunately, this caused me to miss the biggest show we've ever played.  There were several thousand people there this month for a concert in the park in Green Cove Springs, and I couldn't do it.  Fortunately, we were opening for the Curt Towne Band. Their bassist, Greg Thompson, stood in for me and learned all the songs on the fly by watching Mike's hands.  What a pro!  We probably won't book any shows in June while I'm getting my health back to normal and getting my fingers loosened back up so I can play without hurting myself.

I'm planning on posting some recent photos today of our most recent show at McGee's in Keystone Heights. If you're ever down that way, that's a good place to see us play. It's always a good time.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates, since Code isn't a slacker like me when it comes to posting things on the web. We're working hard to get the studio going again so we can start recording the next album. It's long overdue, and we don't want to pull a G'n'R Chinese Democracy on you.

June 11, 2018

It's been a busy year so far.  So busy, in fact, that this is the first news update of 2018.  We've been writing new songs and playing new venues this year, and things just keep getting better.

On Saturday, we played the most fun show we've played in quite a long time. Major thanks to everyone who came to support us at The Roadhouse in Orange Park!  We'd especially like to thank the guys from Born in June for arranging for us to open for them that night. Go check them out and support our local music community.

Our website is undergoing a major overhaul at the hands of our web designer Casie.  She's working on making the site more interactive and user-friendly.  We're excited to see the improvements that are coming that will help us connect with you!

December 13, 2017

As you can see, it's been awhile since our last update.

We stayed busy in 2017 playing shows, writing new material, and getting our copyrights and trademarks in place. Our music is now available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and Google Play, and of course on CD at our merch table at shows.

At our last couple of shows in 2017, we played two new songs that will be on the next album, and people have responded positively to them.

Our schedule is starting to fill up with gigs for 2018, which I will be posting in the "shows" section of the website. You will have many  more opportunities to come out and see us than you did in 2017, so please do!

Our fundraiser for Shannon to help with her medical expenses went well. It was hot playing outside, but the motorcycle ride, auctions, and bands raised over $2,000.00. Thanks to everyone who came out. Special thanks to Corrupted Saint for playing, and to our own John Priest for playing drums for both bands!

Our debut cd, "Too Fast to Die Young", is now available. Contact us at the Facebook page for details.

New photos are up on the photo page. Our photographer was Casie Ellison. Here's her photography page address:

Code is working on getting the cd's printed up.

I just added a page with individual photos of each band member.

The mastering of the album is now complete. We will be designing the cover and duplicating them as soon as we can.

We now have a complete lineup again with the addition of John Priest on drums. Originally from Memphis, he recently moved here from Pennsylvania. He is a talented and experienced player, and we are all having a blast working together.  We will have new band photos taken as soon as we can. In the meantime, Code has posted a photo of John on our Facebook page to introduce him to all of you.

Keep checking back for updates. We are looking forward to getting the album out soon, and getting ourselves back out there playing shows as well!

February 22, 2016

Well,  I spoke a little too soon about the mastering of the album being complete.  I noticed some parts on a couple of songs were buried in the mix, and asked Code to see if we could get those things fixed.  The problem was in the original recording, so Code made the necessary changes, then sent everything back to be mastered again.

Cliff is no longer our drummer, due to school and work obligations.

We have added to our merch! In addition to the stickers, we now have t-shirts. Contact us on the Facebook page if interested.
